Sometimes, all it takes to avoid a major blowout is a little communication. Your business partnerships are no different from your personal relationships, but you have the advantage with your founders that you can put your agreements in writing.
That concept is nothing new. What is unique is what Brett calls the Beer Resolution Clause. Call it whatever you like, but it operates on the premise that, prior to moving to Formal Dispute Resolution, the founders get out of the office and talk over the issue. You'd be surprised at the issues that can be resolved over a conversation in a casual environment - a bar, a coffee shop, the park, a hiking trail, wherever.
For more nuts and bolts of dispute resolution mechanisms, the order of escalation, and how to bake them into your partnership agreements, check out Brett's more comprehensive video here.

Because one thing is for sure, you and your partner(s) will not always agree on everything, and you may even vehemently disagree at times. You need to have systems in place to prevent major blowouts and deal with inevitable disputes as they come up, even if it's as simple as scheduling time to getting out of the office together every once in a while.
So, take a look at this week's video and let us know what you think!
